Gyotaku Home

Gyotaku is the Japanese art of fish printing. Traditionally done by fishermen to preserve the record of a memorable catch, I use the "direct method" to record the catches of modern divers and fishermen.

Being an avid freediver and spearfisherman, I do my best to use the memories of my dives to add life to each of my prints.

All of my gyotaku are originals printed on Shoji paper using Sumi ink and watercolors.

Thanks for visiting,

Ken
